Minister for Health and Family Welfare Kuzholuzo (Azo) Neinu today announced a cash reward of Rs. 50,000 to any person/s who can give information which can lead to the arrest of the main culprit/s involved in the circulation of fake currency notes in Phek District.
The Minister said that this crime should be viewed very seriously as such practices can destabilize our economy. Azo said that he was pained to learn about the circulation of fake currency in his constituency and urged the law enforcing agencies to take stringent measures to deter such practices in future.
He said that though three accused persons was arrested, this is not enough and urged SIT, headed by Additional SP Phek to thoroughly investigate and get to the bottom of the case and arrest all the culprits involved in the racket at the earliest.
He added that the government will extend its fullest support to the investigating agency to root out such evil practices. He acknowledged the commendable job done by the SBI Phek for being vigilant and identifying the fake currency notes and bringing it to the notice of the public.
He also lauded the timely action taken by the district administration and police personnel. In the meantime, he warned the citizens of Phek to beware, careful and vigilance so as not to fall prey to the perpetrators of such practices.
