Tuensang, May 24 (MExN): ATMA Tuensang, Chessore Block conducted one day training cum demonstration programme on May 21 at Sotokur Village with ATM C. Yamukam Kusun, ATM Wapangtoshi Lkr and ATM James T Tsopoe as resource persons. A Banana Farm School was inaugurated at AlokhÜnpit, Sotokur Village and one Food Security Group was mobilized.
A press release by ATMA, Chessore Block stated that the resource person, ATM James T Tsopoe trained the local farmers on ‘Seed Treatment with Bio-Fertilizers’ for different crops. He also demonstrated on Scientific Cultivation Practices of Banana.
ATM Wapangtoshi Lkr demonstrated on low-cost Vermicomposting method and also demonstrated the preparation of Yellow sticky Trap for insect pest management, which was observed to be very effective for insect pest management in both orchards and fields. He stated that this is the only way to be truly organic.
ATM C. Yamukam Kusun demonstrated on Cultivation Practices of Sugarcane and Potato. He stated the importance of selecting healthy planting materials, earthing up etc. to obtain quality produce.
All together 27 farmers attended the Programme including the ATMA officials.
