Myingthungo Shitio Pop culture trends are very nice to look at through a screen. You look at a picture of a cosplayer and you admire them, you see videos of concerts and get hyped up but rarely get the opportunity to do anything in person. But one man decided to tackle this problem for the betterment of all our lives. Imtizulu I Jamir the visionary of ‘Basement Empire’ an event management organization launched it to tackle the lack of new, unique, and healthy entertainment in Nagaland. When asked on how he got the idea for Basement Empire, Imtizulu said “Basement Empire started with me realizing that I was a generalist. Between school and college I developed a lot of interest and by the time I graduated, I was completely lost at what I wanted to do in life because I just had too many interests. After months of …….eh…..soul searching, I came up with Basement Empire which luckily linked up all my many interests. We do events, animation and comic production, podcast, structural and interior designs. We are expanding to food production, farming, waste management and many other businesses which I can’t really discuss right now. But I hope you get the idea about the whole generalist thing now.” Basement Empire is trying to establish themselves in Kohima mainly because most of their active members are based in Kohima and they plan on expanding to different districts and states “soon, once we master our forces.”. When asked where their office was located, he said that it was located in a secret basement somewhere in Kohima. They have a website ‘basementempire.in’ which has links to all their other social media. He said “We are more than just events.” When asked if he could provide information; apart from the ones on their website to which he also added “We are currently working in our basement day and night planning, scheming and waiting for the right time to conquer the surface dwellers. I am sure we’re going to surprise a lot of people.” Most people on learning about this organization are sure to wonder about what kind of events they would be doing in the near future so we asked about it and they revealed that they are working on organizing a major gaming tournament, Poetry Slam and a Live Action Role Playing camp. So if you are interested in this revolutionary movement then follow them on their social media and May the odds be ever in their favor.
