Dimapur, August 7 (MExN): An awareness programme on nutrition, hygiene practices and mental well-being was organized by Dimapur District Administration and District Level Centre for Women-Mahila Shakti Kendra, BBBP, Dimapur in collaboration with Community Health Initiative and Prodigals' Home, Dimapur at Aoyimkum Panchayat Hall, Dimapur on August 7.
A DIPR report stated that EAC, Dimapur, Nukshimatong gracing the programme as special guest highlighted on the importance of nutrition, hygiene and mental wellness and quoted the WHO which states ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social wellbeing and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.’
Stressing on the importance of healthy eating habits and physical exercise, the EAC encouraged the gathering to consume locally produced organic fruits and vegetables which can also be easily achieved by maintaining kitchen garden. Stating good deeds bring peace of mind, Nukshimatong said that being kind to someone, uplifting each other and helping someone in need gives a sense of pride and satisfaction which is a great way to achieve peace of mind.
Women Welfare Officer, DLCW-MSK, Lanusangla Jamir spoke on nutrition, Director, Community Health Initiative, spoke on menstruation hygiene practices while Sungkum Aier from Prodigals' Home spoke on Awareness on Mental Health Community Mental Health Programme.
The programme was chaired by Tiajungla while welcome address and vote of thanks was proposed by District Coordinator DLCW-MSK, Dhonthaidi Langthasa and Ajungla respectively.
