Mokokchung, April 23 (MExN): The 38th commissioning and convocation service of Clark Theological College, Aolijen, Mokokchung was held on April 18 and 19 respectively. The commissioning service was held on April 18 evening with Rev. Maong Lemtur, Chairman, CTC Board of Governors as the speaker. The speaker, while encouraging and commissioning the graduates, emphasized on three areas of concern - obedience, sacrifice and commitment. The commissioning service was followed by a solemn Holy Communion.
The graduation ceremony was held on April 19 with Bishop Prof. D.K. Sahu, Director, Centre for Advanced Theological Studies, SHIATS, Allahabad as the main speaker, and Prof. B.K. Konwar, Vice-Chancellor, Nagaland University, Lumami as the guest of honour. While speaking on the occasion, Bishop Sahu said, “we are called to be the servant of the servant king. Therefore as servants, we need to imitate the role of the servant king.” He further stressed that to be a Pastor, a teacher or a missionary is not our choice but it is God’s, and that we need to bring glory and honour to God through our services. He also exhorted the graduates to be the bearers of the gospel and to live life worthy of the calling.
Speaking on the same occasion, Prof B.K. Konwar, the Vice Chancellor, Nagaland University, Lumami congratulated the graduates for their achievement and also the parents and relatives for their continuous support. Stressing on the need of holistic education, he said that science and theology (religion) are all part and parcel in the service of humanity. And both should work together.
Earlier, Rev. Dr. Takatemjen, Principal CTC, welcomed the guests and the convocation. The program was led by Dr. Eyingbeni Humtsoe, Senior lecturer, while Bible reading and prayer was done by Dr. Pangernungba, lecturer. The College Choir as well as the graduating students presented special songs. Ms. Imnasenla, BD graduate, responded on behalf of the graduating students.
All together 60 students graduated - 49 Bachelor of Divinity students, 5 Master of Arts in Pastoral ministry students, and 3 each in Master of Theology - Christian Ethics and Christian Ministry (General) respectively.
