Beneficiaries from Tuensang express grievances to Urban Dev Minister

Dimapur, October 11 (MExN): The ISHUP 2011 scheme appliers under Tuensang district have still not received the benefit they had applied last year. Therefore, the applicants would like to see the respond of the concern authority in the local dailies.

The appliers in a note addressed to “the Minister in charge of urban development Nagaland on ISHUP” have expressed their discontentment. The note has been issued by YBW Chang, MT Sangtam, Tomukam Yim, Pou Khiam and Hanjaikhiung Yim, on behalf of ISHUP 2011 scheme appliers under Tuensang district.

The appliers stated that after having applied for Interest Subsidy Scheme for Housing the Urban poor (ISHUP) scheme with high expectation, in response to the government notification No. UD/MAC/T-7/2010 Dated: Kohima the 23rd May 2011.

“…undertaking much difficulty to complete the requirements of the application form, the undersigned representatives of the ISHUP applications of Tuensang District, hereby issue this open letter to seek direct answer from the highest authority to our grievances after failing to get the benefit till date and also no satisfactory information from other levels,” the note stated.

Concerning the issue, they have put up several questions: “What happened to the ISHUP scheme in Nagaland? Is it abrogated? How many beneficiaries were selected from Tuensang district under the said scheme? When are the beneficiaries going to receive the loan amount and from which authority the benefit? What is the reason behind the unreasonable delay in allowing the applicants to enjoy the benefit?”

They also went on saying that the poor public of Tuensang Town were greatly moved to have come across the ISHUP Scheme and decided to apply accordingly, without any expectation that they will be harassed in this manner. “After waiting for more than a year now, our hope and the first good impression about the scheme are dying out. Being poor, we are not able to reach Kohima level and that clarification is not available from the district level. Therefore, with no option left, the applicants of Tuensang district would like to know the following matters through this open letter.”
