Beware of fraud MITC technician, cautions Darogapather VC 

Dimapur, September 18 (MExN):  The Darogapather Village Council (DVC) on September 18 has cautioned the general public regarding fraudsters representing the Department of Power as MITC technicians. 

To buttress its claim, a press release from DVC informed that one alleged fraudster was nabbed by members of the Darogapather Youth Organisation (DYO) while enacting the process of fraud at one of the residences in the village on September 17.  The council identified the alleged fraudster as one Niloto Aye of Amboto Village under Wokha District and presently residing at Unity Village, 5th Mile, Dimapur.

“He had been on the watch list of the DYO since days prior, when they were informed of the fraudster roaming about the Village jurisdiction, representing the Department of Power as an MITC technician,” stated the release issued by DVC Chairma, K Ado Bizo; Secretary, I Akum; and Head GB, Yashimeren Ao.

During the process of interrogation by the Village Council and DYO, in the presence of officials from the Department of Power,  he“confessed of his unlawful activity by way of duping the general public on the pretext of electricity Meter inspection and correction,” it maintained. 

The DVC has taken appropriate action and undertaking from the accused and has warned him of any dire consequences if repeated, it added. 

While expressing gratitude to DYO, the Council also extended its continued to support the initiatives former in its relentless effort to safeguard and provide a secure environment within the village. 

Furthermore, the DVC also urged the general public and also the concerned department (Dept of Power) to be more vigilant of such fraudsters.
