Bid adieu to degree course annual education system

With the fast changing of everything in the society, the planners and the visionary educationist have changed the old annual evaluation system of higher education and adopted  the semester system just for the better score of marks in pursuing a publicly recognize degree in any discipline of studies in Nagaland University. Whether like or not, one has to accept the reality and consider oneself discarded from semester system and cannot be a student in that system. Therefore such students are out-casted from the main stream of college education. It is partly because of the student’s misfortune or unavoidable reasons best known to the policy makers. It is a human nature that we all tend to forget and never look back the residuals.

Aiming to attain the degree from the lone university in the native land and earn recognition in the society, one must have admitted in various colleges prior to the year 2012. Lucky or fortune do not favored and now faced a bad fate & landed in a position of no return in pursuing further study as a regular student for those who didn’t clear one or more papers in both 1st & 2nd year of degree courses. No option is left for such students except to admit in the 1st year after admission test exam. Together with 10+ 2 passed students such students will reverse back and compete with them even after losing two years complete study in degree course. There is no credit for such students and become only a wasted time, energy and money. To start a fresh beginning also a good opportunity for them to acquire more knowledge, but nobody would like it.  There is no alternative way and means but to fallow the direction and restart the life career, though the syllabus and course contents of the past two years studies were same. Else you are already cross the time limits and education systems omit you. You have no choice but to accept the failure or defeat. The old annual evaluation system has badly defeated you and you‘ll have to decorate such failure in your life long period.

One must admit and acknowledge the out-dated and absolute system of annual evaluation system and consider it as a buried case. Because in this modernized and civilized society that education system has no place, where all people go for excellent grades and high percentage of secured marks. The society as a whole hate the system and no way is opened for up-gradation or value added options even if the so called learned citizens once brought up from this system and hold a high position in  various set-ups. The mentality of the society goes for qualitative education, not quantitative one as there are over-crowded educated unemployment problem. When go for quantitative education society may land into a chaotic condition where we can’t differentiate the educated or uneducated one in the society.

Our lone Nagaland University is a forward looking university, striving to compete with the advanced universities in the country. The mind-set is fixed to excel and bear fruits better, sweeter and bigger than other university fruits by planting a hi-breed race. No turn back policy, no compromise and no regret attitude and considered the best solution for society advancement. The failure is the students who failed in one or more papers and it is their fault not to blame the system of the university.

In spite of all programs and policies of new and innovative ideas practice and implements in the society in the form of RTE, CCE, SSA, and communitization of primary education in Nagaland etc so as to broaden our out-look the university opted for qualitative education. The torch-bearer of society advancement and more civilized nature is possible only through inculcation of proper education at the appropriate time for want of better living. What an awesome scenario the annual system students faced at this juncture. Discarding you from the main stream or go for a fresh start in pursuing the degree courses, don’t be discouraged or harden your mind to discriminate yourself from the society, but accept the reality and bid a grand final ADIEU to the out-casted annual evaluation system of education and let the society witness and judge what is right or wrong in the society.
