Big winners and losers of Nagaland Election 2013

Prominent winners of the NPF side include Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, former Home Minister Imkong L Imchen, Health & Family Welfare Minister Kuzholuzo Nienu, Assembly Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie, Planning & Co-ordination Minister TR Zeliang and lone Lok Sabha MP, CM Chang. From the Congress, prominent winners are CLP leader Tokheho  Yepthomi, NPCC President SI Jamir and C Apok Jamir, son of former Maharashtra governor SC Jamir.

NPF heavyweights who lost in the poll race include 5 former ministers - School Education Minister Nyeiwang Konyak, Forest and Excise Minister MC Konyak, Power Minister Doshehe Sema, PHED Minister Dr. Ngangshi and Agriculture Minister Dr. Chumben Murry and Rajya Sabha MP, Khekiho Zhimomi. 

In the Congress camp, senior leaders who were axed include former chief minister KL Chishi and former CLP leader I Imkong, former NPCC President KV Pusa, former Lok Sabha MP, Wangyuh Konyak and former Finance Minister K Therie. The state NCP also witnessed a major upset as its President Neiba Ndang lost to rival NPF candidate Namri Nchang.

Polling in Tuensang Sadar –I A/C was countermanded following the demise of Congress candidate P Chuba Chang. Polling in this constituency is slated for March 23 next.
