BJP emergency meeting held

Dimapur, May 21 (MExN): An emergency meeting was called for the State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland Unit compromising of all the five State frontal morchas by the Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton along with the party legislators on May 21 at Hotel Acacia Dimapur for the impending by-election to the Lok Sabha. The meeting was called on arrival in Dimapur after attending NEDA (North East Democratic Alliance) meeting held in Guwahati on May 20.  

A press release from media cell, BJP, Nagaland unit stated that while addressing the meeting, Y. Patton said that BJP National President, Amit Shah specifically instructed him that all those constituencies from where BJP candidates won should give majority support for the PDA Alliance consensus candidate Tokheho Yepthomi. He also said that it was the responsibility of the every BJP MLAs and party worker to mobilize the voters and fulfill the wishes and directive of the central leaders. He also suggested that Co-ordination meetings between legislators and party workers should be held half- yearly /quarterly, the release added.  

Also speaking in the meeting, Medical Minister, S Pangyu Phom highlighted the NEDA meeting held in Guwahati. He stated that important issues regarding border between states were taken up and co-operation of the NEDA ruling states was solicited for final solution to the Indo –Naga political issue. He further added that except for Mizoram, the rest of the Northeast was ruled by the NEDA. He encouraged party workers to abide by the decision of the PDA Alliance and ensure the success of alliance candidate.  

While Jacob Zhimomi, Minister, PHED and Dimapur District BJP Minister in-charge for Lok Sabha Election asked the Party workers irrespective of State, Districts, mandals and various morchas residing in the district to cohesively come together and work jointly for the victory of the candidate in Dimapur District in particular and elsewhere in general.
