Mokokchung, April 7 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party, Mokokchung District celebrated the BJP 42nd Foundation Day at its party office with a live-screening of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech. Appointments to important party offices were also made by district president Imolemba Jamir, according to a press release from the BJP Mokokchung District Secretary on Thursday.
The day was made more significant as the BJP leaders and workers – district office, Mandal, Morcha and Cells – assembled to listen to the speech of Prime Minister Narendra Modi which was screened live at the conference hall, the release stated.
Earlier in the day, the BJP flag was hoisted by the district president at the district office while the Mandal (constituency) and Morcha (frontal) presidents also hoisted the flag in different parts of the district in a synchronised manner, it said.
The attending party members pledged to uphold the BJP party constitution and also resolved to work more dedicatedly so that the BJP’s policies and programmes aimed at universal up-liftment of every section of the society is attained all over the country.
Also, taking the auspicious occasion as a day to strengthen the party, the District office formally inducted two officials – Bendangtoshi as Vice President and I Temsu Imchen as General Secretary – into the BJP Mokokchung office. The induction of the two political workers who have rich experiences in dealing with the political nuances of Mokokchung is expected to give more impetus to the party functioning in the district, the release stated.
Furthermore, BJP 26 Aonglenden Mandal also formally inducted former NSUI leader Kilemsungba Longkumer as General Secretary. The 26 Aonglenden Mandal is poised to emerge as a BJP bastion of the party, with its grand welfare programmes and good governance, endears the people from all walks of life, the release claimed.
