Mokokchung, October 8 (MExN): Understanding the need for legal education for all karyakartas, the BJP Mokokchung District organized a ‘one day legal awareness programme on the theme ‘understanding IPC and customary Laws’ at BJP Conference Hall Mokokchung on October 8.
Giving the keynote address, the president of BJP Mokokchung district, Imolemba Jamir, said that this programme was initiated to make the youngsters understand and appreciate law.
The main resource persons were Advocate Limanungsang Jamir, Retainer Lawyer MDLSA (Mokokchung District Legal Services Authority) and Adv Mapujungla Pongen, lecturer, Mokokchung Law College and Prog Assistant, MDLSA.
The resource persons - Advocate Limanungsang Jamir and Adv Mapujungla Pongen – spoke on the topics, basic rights of an individual according to Indian law and village council Act and consumer Rights respectively. The programme was moderated by Tiarenla, General Secretary, Kisan Morcha, BJP Mokokchung while Longsaakum Longkumer, BJYM President delivered the vote of thanks.
The programme was an initiative of the BJP Mokokchung district with an aim to make the youngsters understand, know and work for posterity to come, stated a press release issued by Tiarenla Pongener, General Secretary, Kisan Morcha, BJP Mokokchung.
