Attendees of the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan 2025 launch event at Niuland Town Hall.

Niuland, April 13 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland formally launched the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan-2025 on Saturday at the Niuland Town Hall, aiming to strengthen grassroots outreach and promote awareness of central government welfare initiatives.
Basu Damani, Vice President of BJP Nagaland and Co-convener of the campaign, addressed the gathering and described the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan as a nationwide effort to connect with citizens in remote areas and highlight the transformative changes under the BJP-led government. He stressed the role of digitalization in eliminating middlemen and ensuring that benefits reach intended recipients directly.
Calling on BJP kaaryakartas to be proactive in spreading information about various government schemes, Damani also accused opposition parties of disseminating false narratives about the BJP, both in Nagaland and nationally.
Khevishe Sema, Co-Chief Spokesperson and a member of the Gaon Chalo Abhiyan team, encouraged party workers to closely monitor the implementation of welfare schemes on the ground. “The growth and strength of the party lie in the hands of its grassroots workers,” he said. Sema also commended the electorate of Niuland for supporting BJP councilors, stating that it remains the only council in the state governed solely by the BJP without coalition partners.
Aliba Sangtam, BJP Nagaland State Secretary and a member of the Abhiyan team, said it was the duty of party workers to help the public better understand government schemes. “Party workers should be ambassadors of the BJP,” he said, urging them to actively communicate the achievements of the BJP government.
During the event, Lovito Aye, a daily wager from Hokhezhe village under Niuland district, shared his testimony, expressing gratitude for the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana. Through the scheme, he said he was able to undergo a successful eye surgery—an opportunity he said would not have been possible without the scheme.
The programme was chaired by Zheito Tuccu, President of the BJP Niuland Unit. The invocation was delivered by Pastor Kiyevi Zhimo of SBC Niuland, and the event concluded with a benediction by Khevili K. Hollo, President of the BJP Mahila Morcha Niuland Unit. Short speeches were also delivered by GBs, councilors, and party leaders.
