BJP officials meet booth level workers in Wokha

Wokha, October 19 (MExN): Ananta Narayan Mishra, State Organizing Secretary, BJP Nagaland along with district party officials toured all the four Mandals of Wokha district from October 13 to 17.  

On October 13, the BJP officials visited party’s polling booth Karyakatas of Seluku, Koio, Chukitong and Nungying villages under 37th Mandal. The next day, the officials toured 39th Sanis Mandal and visited polling booth Karyakatas of Lotsu, Pyangsa, Pangti-1 and Pangti- VII. On October 16, they visited polling booth workers of Bhandari 1&2, Merapani and Seed Farm Karyakatas. Polling booth Karyakatas of Pongitong 1&2 and Longsa 1&2 were visited on October 17.  

According to a press release from N. Nchumbemo Jami, general secretary, BJP Wokha district, the tour was organised mainly to meet and interact with the booth level Karyakatas as well as to inform them about the party policy and programmes so as to disseminate the same to the rural masses, since the programmes and policies initiated by the BJP government at the Centre are mainly focused towards rural masses.  

During the tour, Mishra also attended Sunday devotional service at Pangti village, had a prayer meeting with pastor of Pongitong Baptist Church, the release said. He also met and interacted with village elders, youth, Mahilas, Gaon Bura, chairman and village council members and ex- servicemen. Mishra also visited the abandoned ONGC drilling site at Changpang village under Bhandari sub-division.  

The district officials, the press release said, are optimistic that more improvement will be shown in every mandal as this was the first time that a Central party leader visited even the booth level party Karyakatas.
