BJP Pughoboto mandal and party workers meeting held

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 26 (MExN): The BJP Pughoboto, 13 A/C BJP mandal and party workers along with supporters had a meeting on August 26 at town hall, Pughoboto. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader, Y Patton.

In his speech, Patton said that any political party or individual branding BJP as anti Christian is to spread rumors. BJP is a secular party that works for the upliftment of the women,  STs, SCs and Dalits, he said. He further pointed out that only last month, a tribal woman was elected as the President of the Union of India. 

There has not been any instances where our paths have been hindered in the name of religion after BJP became part of the government in Nagaland, he added. Patton said that the BJP government is always keen to develop the North East and Nagaland. 

On the candidature of Dr Sukhato A Sema, Patton said that Dr Sema is a capable and influential leader from the area and that 13 Pughoboto Assembly Constituency was reserved for BJP even in the 2018 elections. There is a strong commitment and conviction that he should be sent to represent the party and the people in the assembly this time, he said. 

He therefore urged the mandal and party workers to work hard towards acheiving that goal and to strengthen the party in upholding the principles and objectives of BJP under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dr Sukhato in his short speech thanked the visiting dignitaries led by the Deputy Chief Minister for making it convenient to attend the program and also expressed gratitude to the BJP government under the Prime Minister for making it a reality that, every central assistance and relief program are reaching the corner most regions of the country including his constituency.

Others who spoke on the occasion were, Minister Kashiho Sangtam, Advisors Kazheto Kinimi, Khehovi and Haiying and a host of supporters, public leaders, party workers and villagers also attended the meeting.
