
DIMAPUR, MARCH 2 (MExN): The BJP, Nagaland has refuted the press statement calling for M Chuba Ao to step down from his post of President. A press note by Hayithung Bill Lotha, Convener of the Legal Affairs and Human Rights, Nagaland State Unit and Vethisa Lohe, President of the BJP Minority Morcha, Nagaland State Unit stated that the aforementioned press release does not “reflect the collective official party line.”
The press note stated that the state BJP unit “disowns” the note “by some extremely disoriented and vested interests.”
It said that the state BJP, Nagaland stands united at this crucial juncture, “when an overwhelming peoples mandate has been bestowed to the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland.” The BJP has also congratulated P Paiwang Konyak, the lone BJP candidate elected from 41 Tizit A/C.
The press note added that leadership of the BJP state unit would be collectively discussed along with the District units and the Central leadership.
The BJP has also extended its gratitude to the Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio and NPF President, Shurozelie Liezietsu for the “respect shown to the BJP as an alliance partner.” It has also congratulated the CM for being elected as the DAN party leader, which was “proposed by the BJP MLA and seconded by the JDU MLA.”
