BJP Tuensang Sadar-I issues public apology for using Christian song during election campaign

Tuensang, February 11 (MExN): The functionaries of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Tuensang Sadar-I have issued a public apology for using a Christian song during a recent election campaign. They have recognized that the use of the song has hurt the sentiments of the Christian community and had a far-reaching impact on the party and its candidates.

In a statement issued to the press through its Media Cell, the party expressed that they did not intend blasphemy and that the use of the song was a result of total ignorance and unawareness on the part of party workers who only wanted to express support to the candidate. They stated that the song was chosen without proper consideration of its religious significance and that they deeply regret the mistake.

The party functionaries have sought forgiveness from the Christian communities and have prayed that the incident will be an eye-opener in edifying their faith and making Naga believers more careful and vigilant in the future.
