Dimapur, June 17 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Wokha district commemorated the first anniversary of Modi 2.0 at its district office, Tsumang Colony, Wokha Town.


A press release from BJP Wokha unit media and press secretary, M James Tungoe stated that, Er Senkathung Jami, president State Kisan Morcha, highlighted the government’s achievements in one year’s time and further challenged the party karyakatras to be good leaders.


Renponthung Ezung, state council member also exhorted the party workers. Regarding the recent delimitation issue, he challenged the gathering to educate the people with the right message.


In his presidential address Yanthungo Kikon shared details about the visit of BJP legislators to Wokha district during the pandemic, stating that Wokha District BJP unit has been recognized as one of the most active party in the fight against Corona pandemic in the entire North East. He further thanked Dy CM Y Patton, Home and PWD(R&B) and also legislators in-charge of Wokha District as well as Mmhonlumo Kikon, Advisor Science and Technology on behalf of the party workers for their tireless effort in containing the pandemic. He said that, the joint effort of the legislators as well as the party karyakatras in the district has been overwhelming during the crisis.  


Brief reports were given by all the four Mandals A/C presidents as well as the Morchas’ presidents consisting of BJYM, BJMM, ST morcha, kisan cell, ex-service men cell.


Earlier, invocation was given by Secretary Khochobeni Lotha and vote of thanks was delivered by Y Lilamo Ennio, President Kisan Morcha Wokha. One minute silence was observed as a gesture of respect to late Dr T M Lotha, a veteran politician and statesman among the Kyong Lothas.  Benediction was pronounced by Zuchamo Ezung, treasurer, Wokha district.
