BJP workers told not to air individual views on print, social media

DIMAPUR, MAY 25 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland Unit on Friday clarified that party members in the capacity of individuals or groups expressing differently on the subject connected to the Lok Sabha bye-election in print/social media does not reflect or represent the official stand of BJP Nagaland.

Informing this, media cell, BJP Nagaland in a press release appealed all its members to refrain from airing out their individual views in the print media in the larger interest of the party as such “conduct might attract unwanted disciplinary action amongst its members.”

The party also informed all party workers that as per the directives of the Central BJP, the party will support the PDA (People’s Democratic Alliance) consensus candidate Tokheho Yepthomi in the ensuing Lok Sabha by-election scheduled on May 28.

It reminded members that PDA is a constituent of NDA (National Democratic Alliances) at the Centre led by BJP under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the National BJP President Amit Shah.

Further, in order to avoid attracting the “breach of discipline “ as enshrined in Article- XXV of the party constitution, the State BJP President, Visasolie Lhoungu directed all party workers to work in line with the party’s stand. Any issue or grievances within the party should be routed through proper channel at the appropriate platform of the party, it added.
