Even as Vikhono Senotsu of Government Higher Secondary School, Jotsoma revels in her success as the topper of the Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate (HSSLC) examination in Arts Stream by securing 96.20%, she profoundly acknowledged the role of her parents while articulating that they have been a great support. “Many parents think they cannot help their children in their studies since they are not educated, but it is not only bookish knowledge and they can help in so many ways,” she related to The Morung Express.
Illustrating her point, she expressed, “in the morning, my mom wakes up before me, and prepares everything. All my family members also wait for me till I finish studying. They have supported and guided me in every way and I encourage all parents to do the same.”
Articulating that “I feel blessed to be the Topper No. 1”, she further expressed that, “I gave my best and was expecting good results but not the Top 1.” She went on to acknowledge all her teachers, whose support and encouragement have been instrumental in her success.
Unlike other people, she went on to say that, “I don’t give all of my time to studying but maintain a study time of 3-4 hours daily, and when I do, I give my full concentration.” As a result, she also did not stress herself during exams. “I try to let nothing distract me especially mobile phones”, she added.
She is planning to take up Political Science from Sazolie College and simultaneously prepare herself for competitive examinations. In a message to fellow students, Vikhono Senotsu, who is also the youngest in the family put across, “it doesn't matter how much time you spend in studying, but giving your full concentration and dedication while studying.”
