The District Disaster Management Authority, Kiphire along with NHPWD, Town Council, PWD and the district administration cleared all the blocked drainage along NH 155 in Kiphire town area on May 17.
Speaking with this correspondence, the district administration said that they are in the process of opening all the blocked drains all along the highway as this may cause disaster if there is heavy down pour like the past few days.
“We are hopeful that if all the drains are open along the highway it will be fine,” he added.
The initiative is undertaken as the drains along the highway in town areas are blocked due to which some colonies are affected badly during the heavy downpour of rain in the last few days.
