Nagaland Youth Resources and Sports Advisor Er Zale Neikha today said that sportspersons have to be disciplined in their chosen field and keep on pushing to achieve higher standards.

He was speaking at a brief felicitation programme for bodybuilder Keneilelie Sorunu at Hotel Japfü, here on Saturday. He challenged the youths to be dedicated and be achievers like Kenei, who had brought laurels to the State through his hard work.

Keneilelie Soru of Zhadima Village (Nagaland) won Silver medal under Men’s Athletic Physique at 13th Mr India Championship 2021 held on January 6 to 8, 2022 in Telengana organised by the Indian Body Builders Federation and the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

Er Nekha observed that often people play the blame game and point fingers at associations, government and each other and thus fail to achieve anything.

He said without dedication on a sportsperson’s part there was no chance for them to achieve anything higher.

Er Neikha pointed out that there were many instances where sports persons remain complacent with their achievements and fail to push forward into bigger arenas.

He said no external force could propel a person to achieve anything and that only their self determination and commitment would ensure their chance of success.

Later, Kenei thanked Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Abu Metha, Advisor to CM and Er Zale Neikha for recognition of his laurel to state.

Roko Angami, president, Nagaland Football Coaches Association and official of Nagaland Bodybuilders and Fitness Association were also  present on the occasion.
