Dimapur, August 10 (MExN): Botany Talk, a series of lectures initiated by the Department of Botany, Patkai Christian College (Autonomous) was held on August 7.
Dr Ashiho A Mao, Director Botanical Survey of India, Kolkata and Dr Nribemo Odyou Scientist –E & Head, Eastern Regional Centre Botanical Survey of India, Shillong were present at the talk as the resource persons.
According to a press release received on Wednesday, Dr Mao delved on the importance of biodiversity and conservation. He also shared his knowledge on organic farming. Encouraging the students he said, ‘Curiosity is one of the important characteristics for science students and one should be ready to learn.’
Dr Nribemo Odyou on Herbarium preparation and the technique involved with introduction of digitalization of herbarium species.
The programme was attended by faculty, UG and PG students of the Science department, the release stated.
