The boundary between the Nagas and Assam is yet to be settled and the same case is kept pending in the Supreme Court of India for disposal.
To speak the truth that the original boundary between the Nagas and Assam was demarcated by the British-India Govt. during the 19th Century and you will find out the same report from the following available book. 1. The North East Frontier of India by Sir Alexander Mackenzie 2. The Assam Surveyed Map 3. The Manipur Boundary Surveyed Map 4. The History of Nagaland by B.B Ghosh 5. The Angami Naga Country 6. The Lotha Naga Tribe etc. And the GOI knows those historical facts as because the 9th Points Agreement as well as the 16th Points Agreement were made between the Nagas and Govt. of India (GOI) based on those historical facts. And in which, the land of Nagas measuring 5000 sq miles have been encroached by the British-India Govt. which area is presently under the Assam Govt. and the same areas is agreed to return Nagas by the GOI while the Nagaland statehood was created.
According to historical fact and various agreements made between the Nagas and the GOI were agreed to return the land of Nagas, and in which the vast areas of land at West Point of the present Nagaland state between the Golaghat upto North Chachar is absolutely belong to three Naga tribes of Tenyimis such as 1. Rengma Naga Tribe 2. The Mighty Angami Naga Tribe and 3. Zeliang Naga Tribe that the same area is falls within the conquered land of their forefathers and as such, the said area of Tenyimis land claim by the Karbi Anglong Mikirs) or by the Govt. of Assam is totally wrong and baseless issue.
Incase, if the Nagas willing to settle within their own forefather’s conquered land, no one shall have right from the Assam side to stop the Nagas as land encroachers. And in this connection, I request both the local authorities to settle the said areas of land with the traditional land owners of the Tenyimis. And no overground Govt. or underground Govt. from the Assam side shall threaten the Nagas as land encroachers. As because, the Nagas have right to go ahead till they reached their original land mark set by their forefathers.
The Nagas are patiently awaiting the GOI for peaceful settlement of their land boundary. But the Nagas shall not tolerate anymore if the Labours of the British-India always threaten the Nagas with their Bows and Arrows within the Naga Traditional land. And in this boundary issue, the river of Lengri Nodi (Keserii) is never the traditional boundary of the Angami Naga tribe. As because the traditional boundary of Tenyimis is far beyond the so called Lengri Nodi (River) as mentioned above. And as such the person who do not know about the original land boundary of the Tenyimis which were set by their forefathers are hereby warned. As because the present boundary Pillars which were placed by the Assam Forest Dept. are not the mutual boundary pillars between the Nagas and Assam which can never be accepted.
If you want some portion of land within the conquered areas of Tenyimis, ask the owner, get its permission and go ahead according to law of the land.
