Dimapur, September 11 (MExN): The Bible Society of India Dimapur Auxiliary has inaugurated BSI Chokihola Branch, Karbi Anglong, Assam on September 10 at Karbilongsa Christian Revival Church.

According to a press release received here on Sunday, Rev Benting Teron moderated the session while Rev Dr N Paphino, President, Dimapur Auxiliary inaugurated the Branch and installed newly elected office bearers.

Rev Paphino shared that BSI is an inter-denominational society and non-profitable society. It belongs to all the believers of Jesus Christ and every Christian ought to participate in the mission of BSI in reaching God’s Word to all people, he added.

Rev Dr Yiepetso Wezah, Auxiliary Secretary spoke on the importance of Church participation in the mission of the BSI. He said that according to the survey of the United Bible Societies, about 90% of the world population is yet to receive the Word of God in their heart languages, and as such, it is the responsibility of the Church to provide the Bible in their preferred languages.

Marwati, Assistant Officer, CPRRM shared that BSI Branches should mobilize individual believers and Churches to pray and support the ministry of BSI. 

On the occasion, the Karbilongsa Christian Revival Church presented special song. Altogether 29 leaders from different churches participated in the programme.

The newly elected office bearers include President Rev Benting Teron; Vice President Binon Das; Secretary Benting Phangcho; Asst Secretary Elish Rengma; and Treasurer Pastor Kelion Hermon. The Executive members are Willington Phangcho, Riju Borah, Gabriel Horo, Tinis Bagh, Christina Timungpi, Sarwan Kro, Asila Rengma and Tendon Rongphar. The Advisors are Pastor Bronson Phangcho, Joken Rengma and Pastor Poresh Kumar, the release stated.
