Clean Election Movement appeals for altering counting date
The Clean Election Movement of the Nagaland Baptist Church Council has meanwhile appealed to the Nagaland Government to consider the request by the KBBB on altering the date of counting votes which falls on a Sunday, December 3. The resolution taken to oppose the proposed date by the youth is a clarion call for maintaining peace and harmony by taking cognizance of the sentiments expressed legitimately by the community, a press release from the NBCC stated.

The Clean Election Movement (NBCC) supports the idea of altering the day of counting the votes as it infringes the religious duties of the members who will be involving in the process, it stated. It further said that conducting this exercise without considering the resentment of the community would further invite unnecessary disruptions for the smooth functioning of the Bye-Elections.  Further the movement also would like to remind all the elected MLAs to deliver what they have promised in the last 2023 Election, it added.

The movement meanwhile appealed to all voters, candidates and political parties to maintain peace and not resort to any unlawful activities.
