C-Edge College IQAC holds prog on faculty development

Dimapur, June 22 (MExN): One day faculty development programme organised by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), C-Edge College was held on June 22 at the College Conference Room with Dr. N. Moa Imsong, Counselor of Dimapur Ao Baptist Arogo (DABA) as the resource person.  

The programme attended by all teaching faculty was held based on the topic ‘Intrapersonal and Interpersonal Relational Skills’ - Intrapersonal Skills as in understanding self and interpersonal relational skills as in understanding students and the environment and how it can help in mentorship.  

In the first technical session the resource person Dr Moa stressed on the types of personality and how knowing oneself and others can help to maintain a good relationship. He conducted a practical Myers-Briggs Test Indicator (MBTI) which is an introspective self- report questionnaire. This test was attempted by all the participants where they were made to identify their personality type, strengths and preferences. Further, Dr Imsong explained how understanding each personality can help one to have better relations with people around them.  

The second technical session was based on the interpersonal relational skills and how it can be connected and implemented with the mentorship programme in the college. He stresses on the principles of interpersonal skills which can be applied to mentoring students in the college. He related the points based on Jesus Christ testimonies which were unconditional acceptance, attentive listening, genuine appreciation and caring confrontation. He also gave a detailed presentation and talk on the principles of mentoring. The technical sessions ended with an interactive time where case studies based on the participant's experiences were discussed and deliberated.  

The programme was chaired and moderated by Yimwapangla Jamir, Assistant Professor of English Department. It started with an introductory and welcome address by the Principal of the college, Dr. Chubatola Aier. Invocation was presided by Inza, Assistant Professor of Management Studies Department. The programme concluded with the closing remark and certificate presentation by Wapanginla Ao, IQAC Coordinator.
