Dimapur, February 24 (MExN): With an aim to promote and create awareness of linguistic and cultural diversity and preservation of multi-lingual, C-Edge College, Dimapur observed International Mother Language Day on February 21 with active participation of students as well as faculty.
Speaker for the event, Kaiko Loli, Assistant Professor of History Department stressed on the importance of preserving our mother language and promoting the linguistic diversity and richness of our language. He also emphasised on mother language as the key to preserve our cultural identity to provide broader access to the global world.
The students presented various traditional songs in various Naga dialects. An enactment was presented by the English Honours students.
The event also featured an educational quiz based on ‘Word Translation’ from English to mother tongue.
Invocation was pronounced by the College EU President, Vilivi Chopy of BA VI semester.
