C-Edge College students discuss ‘Frontier & Nagaland’

Dimapur, January 19 (MExN): The Department of History and Political Science, C-Edge College organized an interactive lecture on January 17 with Matthew Wilkinson as the guest lecture.


The lecture was held on the topic ‘Frontier and Nagaland’ which provided a wider perspective to the students on the social implications of frontier transitions - Nagaland from frontier to peace resolution. 


Wilkinson is a Research Scholar from the University of New South Wales, Australia who is currently doing his PhD on Men at the Margins: Patriarchy and Post-Conflict at the Indo-Burmese Frontier, said a press release.


He has been an Academic Tutor on topics such as local politics of development, academic literacy, tactical counter terrorism, international relations, and terrorist networks and operations. He is also a research lead at the University of New South Wales and a freelance editor.


The lecture session highlighted on the dynamic outsider’s perspective and also encouraged dialogue and interaction on Nagaland as a frontier. The session rounded off with questions which left the students to retrospect on who holds the right to speak on behalf of the Naga Society, the release added.
