Newmai News Network Imphal | October 7 The Assam Rifles claimed to have arrested the Chairman and Commander-In-Chief of proscribed SDFK today. According to the office of the Inspector General of Assam Rifles-South Sector (IGAR-S), the Shangshak Battalion of Assam Rifles in a "major breakthrough" apprehended the Chairman and Commander-In-Chief of SDFK, identified as BoithangHaokip alias Letminthan Haokip. He was apprehended from Philengkot village at 8: 30 this morning. Boithang Haokip had founded SDFK in March 2018. He was earlier the General Secretary of Kuki National Front (KNF-N). According to the office of the IGAR-S, SDFK is believed to have over 25 armed cadres and actively involved in weapons smuggling and extortion. "Boithang Haokip is also suspected to be involved in the death of KNF cadres," alleged the IGAR-S, adding, "He was frequently on move and regularly moved to Moreh to avoid being caught where SDFK is believed to have established a base".
