MOKOKCHUNG, DECEMBER 3 (MExN): Coy 173 Bn CRPF organized a civic action programme at its headquarter at DEF Camp, Chuchuyimpang, Mokokchung on December 2 with Ashok Kumar Yadav, Commandant-173 Bn CRPF as chief guest.
During the programme, water storage tanks, solar lamps and sports items were distributed to various school and individuals including Middle School Khensa, DEF School Chuchuyimpang and Mountain Mover Club Khensa, needy people of Khensa Village and Chuchuyimpang village residing near deployment of C/173 Bn at Mokokchung, a press release issued by Officer Commanding, C/173 Bn CRPF informed.
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant of 173 Bn CRPF, Ashok Kumar Yadav informed that civic action programme is conducted by CRPF every year in which needy people and institutions like schools, youth clubs etc are provided various essential items which are beneficial for them in their daily life. He further elucidated that civil action programme bridges the gap between security forces and the local populace.
Cuthbert Tongsin Anal, Assistant Commandant conducted the programme by giving the welcome speech and introduction of beneficiaries.
Tovili Wati, District Organising Commissioner (Guides) graced the function as the guest of honour. In her address, she appreciated the role of CRPF in maintaining the internal security of the nation and in organizing such a people friendly initiative.
Nungsangkokba during his vote of thanks sincerely gratitude to the chief guest for organising this programme and on behalf of the villagers of Khensa, presented an Ao Naga Shawl. I Longri Ao, Headmaster Middle School Khensa was also present.
Villagers, youth clubs, students and people nearby area of DEF Camp, Mokokchung also spoke on the occasion and thanked the Commandant, 173 Bn CRPF for organizing the function and strengthening the ethos of unity in diversity.
