A press note issued by Rev. Fr. Loyola Antony, St. Joseph School, Chumukedima informed that while, addressing the students, the chief guest called on all the students to shine in order to touch the life of everyone. She also reminded the gathering that the School is not only for academic pursuits, but also for overall development of the students. Therefore, there should be no place for jealousy but everyone should keep in mind the name of the school when it comes to competitions. The chief guest further invited the students to be the torchbearers and show light to others. The students were further exhorted to be aware of the surroundings and keep the atmosphere clean. As a word of reminder, the parents were invited to take responsibility for the growth of their children and not justify themselves that their duty ends by merely putting the children in a reputed school. Earlier, Rev. Fr. Sabu Chenackal, Principal while welcoming the gathering highlighted the purpose of sports and games conducted in the school. The programme also included flag hoisting, national anthem, lighting of the Olympic lamp, athletic pledge, and March past.
