CAN conduct Samvidhan LIVE! The Jagrik project

Dimapur, November 27 (MExN): CAN Youth organized a one day orientation cum CAD (Community Action Day) programme on Samvidhan LIVE! The Jagrik project at North East Institute for Social Science & Research (NEISSR) conference Hall on November 27.  

A press release issued by CAN Youth stated that The Samvidhan LIVE! The Jagrik project is a nation-wide initiative anchored by a Delhi based organization CYC (com-Mutiny the Youth Collective) involving young people in the practical field of constitutional fundamental rights and duties with various task given during the process of the campaign. Its main objective is to promote young people aware of their fundamental rights and duties as a citizen of India.  

Altogether 26 students of NEISSR participated during the orientation programme. The orientation workshop was facilitated by Sedelo T Vadeo (Project coordinator) and Jenpu Rongmei, Chief Functionary of CAN Youth NGO.   Introducing the jagrik volunteers the facilitator asked the participants to share their self experienced on stereo-types. The other session includes reflection on value ranking of each individual, understanding and building ownership towards the constitution, forming of jagrik volunteers and their responsibility to embark on a two months campaign.  

Later in the evening the CAD (Community Action Day) was chaired by Katini Emily. Kivitoli Chishi core-Team member of CAN Youth invokes God’s blessing. The Chief Functionary of CAN Youth Jenpu Rongmei gave a brief picture about of the Samvidhan LIVE! The Jagrik Project. Miss Alino Chishi shared his interest why she chooses to be in this campaign. Litaholi Zalipu former Jagrik volunteer encouraged the new jagrik volunteers to be non-judgmental, competent and committed to their task.  

In the exhortation, Robert, Asst. Prof. NEISSR encourage the Jagrik Volunteer quoting the famous proverbs of Swami Vivekananda “Give me few man and woman who are pure and selfless that will seek their endeavor” Philip Lorin, member of Legal cell also encouraged the jagrik volunteers on the importance of constitutional Fundamental rights and duties and how important it plays to protect the dignity an individual in great condition in whichever human being can develop his personality to the fullest extent.  

For 2 Months long Campaign Journey the project coordinator Sedelo T Vadeo led the introduction and oath-taking of the Jagrik volunteers and delivered the vote of thanks.
