Neiketuno Sechü returned home to a rousing welcome after participating in the Miss Grand India 2024. The reigning Miss Nagaland and Miss Chümoukedima represented Nagaland and finished as a top 8 finalist in the pageant organised by the Glamanand Group in Jaipur. She also won the Miss Popular sub-title.

Sechü was received at the Dimapur airport, on August 13, by a host of well-wishers and organisations, including the Ruzhaphema Students’ Union, Sechü Khel Ruzhaphema village, Chakroma Students’ Union, Ruzhaphema Youth Organisation, Chümoukedima  youth department (block 4), Chakroma Youth Organisation,  Pastor Amele of Ruzhaphema Baptist Church and Meraki Entertainment Nagaland.

Sechü credited her accomplishments to her family and well-wishers, who she said have been very supportive of her and her ambition. She especially remembered her late father, whom she described as her beacon of inspiration. “Though he was suffering, he told me to do well in the competitions. His words inspired me when I was there in the competition,” she told journalists.

According to her, she was overwhelmed by the welcome she received at the airport. “I feel so blessed. This is to all the people, this is for Nagaland… I'd like to thank all of you,” she said, while adding that she is looking forward to more titles and achievements.

She termed competing in beauty pageants as financially demanding but one that is not impossible to overcome. “It's how you deal with it, I think. If you really, really want to work on something, you can do it. And I am so happy and so blessed that so many people have sponsored me and helped me get where I am today,” she said.
