Dimapur, July 30 (MExN): CAN Youth conducted an awareness program on Water, Sanitation, and Menstrual Hygiene as part of their 6-month Adolescents Campaign, running from July to December 2024. The event took place on July 30 at Neisatuo Colony, Khermahal, Dimapur, and was attended by 57 adolescents.
The program was chaired by Tolito X. Kiba, an intern from St. Joseph University. It began with an invocation by Deepak Prasad, Youth Vice President of Neisatuo Colony, followed by a keynote address from Nuyi Nyekha, Senior Project Manager at Can Youth.
The first session, led by Khrielhouvono Sano from the CMO Office, focused on menstrual hygiene, addressing practices, health implications, and dispelling myths. The second session, conducted by Yimnasenla Jamir, another intern from St. Joseph University, emphasized the importance of clean water and proper sanitation.
Tunato, an intern from NEISSR, delivered the vote of thanks, and Ngunying Konyak, an intern from St. Joseph University, concluded the formal session with a benediction.
The event concluded with engaging activities, including a quiz competition and games, providing valuable knowledge to the adolescents on these critical issues.
