Changlang, November 24 (MExN): The Eastern Naga Union has stated that the recent signing of an agreement between the six Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs) and the Government of India has generated a “new hope” in resolving the long pending Naga political issue.
“With involvement of the six NNPGs along with NSCN (IM) in the talk, [it] is the right time to finalise a solution that is inclusive,” the ENU stated in a press statement.
“Our concern is not who is talking and who is not. Our concern is [that] we have suffered enough and peace and development must come back to our life,” the ENU stated and insisted that they cannot afford to miss the bus this time.
The ENU also stated that it would be the “right time” for a delegation from Tirap-Changlang and Longding (TCL) to meet the Interlocutor and the Prime Minister of India so that their concerns are addressed under the Framework Agreement.
The union further hit out at the Eastern Naga National Government (ENNG) over its stand of “Full fledged sovereign nation for the entire Nagas and nothing less”.
Making it clear that it was not against Sovereignty, the ENU reasoned that the general masses have suffered enormously because of the Naga National movement accompanied by corruption at various levels for the past many years.
“It is no longer feasible for the people living in the remote corner of the countryside to bear the burden,” the union maintained
