Kohima, August 10 (MExN): The Confederation of All Nagaland State Services Employees’ Association (CANSSEA) on Tuesday appealed to the state government to commence recruitment of non state civil service (SCS) officers into the IAS cadre as per regulations.
The CANSSEA submitted a representation on the matter to the Nagaland Chief Secretary on Tuesday.
According to the association, as per the Indian Administrative Service (Fixation of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955, Amendment Regulations 1997 and subsequent amendments in 2010 and 2015, IAS officers from the non SCS category in position was to be 2 in 1997, and in 2010 it was meant to be 4. However, contrary to the provisions of the regulations, it pointed out that only 3 IAS officers are in position as of July 2021, contradicting the laid down Regulations, thereby denying the rights to multiple efficient and deserving non-SCS officers.
As such, CANSSEA appealed to the state government to protect the rights and interest of Non-SCS officers by establishing the facts and commencing the recruitment process as per the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules, 1954, the selection of non-SCS Officers to the IAS under (Appointment by selection) Regulations 1997 and the Indian Administrative Service (Appointment by Induction) Regulations, 2013 which is being kept specific for non state civil servants.
