Canteen employee tests positive, Commissioner’s office sealed in Kohima

The detection of a COVID-19 positive case at a colony under Ward-7 in Kohima resulted in the sealing of the office of the Commissioner, Nagaland on July 7.


According to official reports, an employee of the canteen at the Commissioner’s office tested positive. Subsequently, the Commissioner’s office was sealed for 48 hours, as per the Standard Operating Procedure.  


The DC also wrote to the Chief Secretary infirming of the development, stating, “the District Task Force (DTF) Kohima had an emergency meeting and activated the relevant line departments as per the Incident Response System (IRS), wherein the Containment Zone has been mapped and necessary cordoning of the area/colony in the proximity of the epicenter has been made.”


Further details were awaited from the state Health & Family Welfare Department.
