Kohima, November 2 (MExN): Two-day capacity-building on Service and Accounts Matter for the officers and staff of Water Resources Department is underway at the conference hall of Chief Engineer, WRD, Kohima commencing on December 2.
The Executive Engineer, Wapangnaro Imchen in his keynote address urged upon the department officials to acquire all the important government service rules and procedures from the vast experience resources persons during the two day training program.
She encouraged the attendees, specially the newly recruited officials to take the training as an opportunity and privilege given by the department to maintain their files arrangement, use of flag in files, putting up of files and keeping of record properly so as to avoid any problem, stated a DIPR report.
The Executive Engineer also called upon the department officials to learn more as much as they can to inculcate work culture in the office. She stated that the training would help to motivate the department officials during the annual Audit conducted by the Accountant General, Nagaland, Treasures & Accounts Department and the Central Government Audit team. In this regard, she informed them to maintain their record meticulously with transparency as desired by the Audit officials previously.
Imchen further informed them that the department has been imparting training to the department officers and staff from time to time on GIS, latest technology-updated software training, and urged them to avail the opportunity whenever the department gives a chance to go training in order to enhance their practical skills.
During the first day of the workshop, the resource person, Khinyi Woch, Rtd Senior Accounts Officer, Treasuries & Accounts, impartered training on maintaining records of pay and allowance and fixation of pay for the employees’ salary in time. Woch who was a former Financial Advisor (MGRNEGA) and Guest Faculty, ATI imparted the trainees on pension, types of pension and filling of Forms, latest notification and check list for the pension, and also shared on the treasuries and Audit matter.
The training includes basic office procedure, Annual Performance Appraisal Report (APAR) maintenance of service book, personal file and Nagaland Service Conduct Rules, 1968. Other resource persons include Limatemsu, Sr TO, Treasury & Accounts (North), and Deputy Secretary, Economic and Statistics Andress Lotha. The program was chaired by the SDO, Er Kevithoukho Lhousa.
