Two-day training on capacity building for women Self Help Groups concluded at Penli Dilong Community Hall on April 9. The training is an initiative of City Level Federation, Mokokchung, under the aegis of District Urban Development Agency, Mokokchung, Government of Nagaland. The first training was held at Penli Community Hall on March 26.

S Arenla Longkumer, Resources Organization, President, Watsü Mungdang said, “Self Help Groups are a way to promote and empower women.” She urged the participants to inculcate and share the knowledge learned at the programme to other members in her short exhortation. 

Dr. Temjensangla Pongener, Assistant Professor, Fazl Ali College spoke on Garbage to Gold ‘Upcycled Creation Repurpose’, T Arenla, YWCA Project co-ordinator, spoke on Cutting and stitching and Takasangla, Horti Extention Assistant, and Medangtiba Kichu, Lab Assistant, Horticulture Department, spoke on Mushroom cultivation.

Day-two of the seminar was attended by eight wards, wherein two members each from 68 SHGs were present.
