Attendees at the conclusion of two-week capacity-building programme (CBP) for young higher education faculty members held at Nagaland University Lumami campus from May 7-18.

Lumami, May 26 (MExN): A two-week capacity-building programme (CBP) for young higher education faculty members in social sciences on ‘Academic and Research Excellence in Higher Education’ was held at Nagaland University Lumami campus from May 7-18.
Prof VP Joshith, Department of Education, Central University of Kerala, who was one of the many resource persons, was the chief guest at the valedictory programme of the Indian Council of Social Science Research-sponsored CBP
Dr Boyillapalli Venkata Rao, ICSSR-CBP Co-course Director, in his report, expounded the purpose and objective of the two-week event and said that committee followed all ICSSR norms regarding topics covered on research and academic excellence.
The CBP saw 29 participants from 10 different social science disciplines and 36 sessions by 22 resource persons, he said.
The major outcomes of the CBP are data analysis in social Science Research by using IBM-SPSS-AMOS, SEM through Smart PLS and knowledge of patents and copyrights, etc, a press release informed.
Chief guest Prof Joshith, meanwhile expressed appreciation to the organisers as well as active participation of the participants and noted that learning should be fun and as educators, they have displayed enthusiasm in academic discourse.
Several participants, including Dr Babli Parveen from Delhi University, shared feedback on the overall CBP and challenged the local research scholars to also take part as delegates in such programmes in the future.
The valedictory programme was chaired by ICSSR-CBP Course Director, Dr Limala, Associate Professor, Department of Education, while Prof Buno Zetsuvi, former Dean, School of Humanities and Education, also from the same department, gave the welcome address.
The vote of thanks was proposed by Dr M Rajendra Nath Babu, Associate Professor, Dept of Education, NU.
