Dimapur, January 26 (MExN): ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA) Career Guidance and Job Placement Services, Dimapur in collaboration with Don Bosco Job Placement Network, India, organised a career guidance training programme under the leadership of Rev Fr Dr Roy George SDB, Executive Director, AIDA Dimapur.
In his welcome address, Rev Fr Dr Roy George emphasised the importance of career guidance in shaping the future of students and contributing to society. He urged the participants to look beyond personal gains and strive for the betterment of society by guiding and mentoring students to choose meaningful career paths that align with their strengths and interests.
The event was coordinated by Sebi Chacko, Placement Coordinator of AIDA - JPN, and was conducted for school teachers, counselors, principals, vocational trainers, and college placement officers. The one-day programme aimed to equip participants with essential tools to guide students in making informed career decisions.

The sessions were led by Rev Fr Renigo Roy SDB, Assistant Professor in Department of Counselling and Psychology at Sacred Heart College, Tirupattur, and Rev Fr Gabriel Karunaraj SDB, National Director of Don Bosco Job Placement Network, India.
Rev Fr Gabriel explained the services of the Don Bosco Job Placement Network, an initiative of the Salesian Provincial Conference of India, aimed at enhancing career guidance and job placement efforts across provinces. He elaborated on the resources available through the platform www.donboscojobs.org, which connects youth with safe, secure, and dignified employment opportunities.
Additionally, he introduced career guidance materials, including a career chart outlining career pathways, a career calendar for planning, and an overview of the Indian education system. He also discussed government job opportunities, such as those offered through UPSC, PSC, SSC, and other competitive exams.
Rev Fr Renigo Roy SDB conducted sessions on strategies for overcoming fear, setting goals, and using the multiple intelligences tool to personalize career guidance for students.
The programme, attended by 50 participants, included interactive discussions and highlighted the resources available through the Don Bosco Job Placement Network, including digital tools designed for career guidance and job placement. Participants expressed interest in continued collaboration with ANMA Integrated Development Association (AIDA), Dimapur, for similar initiatives.
The programme concluded with a feedback session, helping participants enhance their ability to mentor and guide students effectively in their career journeys.
