Jalukie, July 26 (MExN): The College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry under the Central Agricultural University (Imphal) at Jalukie in Peren district organised a career counselling-cum-job opportunities programme for students on Saturday under the aegis of its Placement Cell.
Scientist-F at the CSIR–North East Institute of Science and Technology (CSIR-NEIST), Jorhat, Dr Rituraj Knowar, delivered a lecture on "Recent Advances in Reproductive Biotechnology: Emerging Trends and Career Opportunities."
Knowar spoke on recent developments in reproductive biotechnology and the growing career opportunities in the sector. He also highlighted the application of nanotechnology and quantum dots in biomedical sciences.
Encouraging students to keep pace with emerging technologies, he urged them to develop scientific skills and embrace innovation. He advised students not to depend solely on government jobs but to explore self-employment opportunities, including biotechnology-based enterprises and other entrepreneurial ventures.
Professor and Chairman of the College Placement Cell Committee, Dr S K Borthakur, welcomed the resource person. The programme was coordinated by Dr Bhabesh Mili, Assistant Professor in the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry and Member Secretary of the organising committee.
In his concluding remarks, Dr A Palanisammi thanked the invited speaker, the college administration, faculty members, students and all those involved in organising the programme.
