Rev. Khrotso Mero appointed as new Executive Secretary
Kohima, January 21 (MExN): The 68th general council meeting of the Chakhesang Baptist Church Council (CBCC) was held at Thenyizu Baptist Church (TBC) from January 18 to the 20. This year’s theme was taken from the bible verse John 8.32 “the truth will set you free”.
A press release from host village TBC informed that 519 delegates representing 100 churches and one fellowship under CBCC attended the general meeting.
During the three daylong annual meeting, Rev Dr. Dingu Kenye, Rev Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Rev Dr. Zelhou Keyho and Rev P. Bonny Resu were the speakers.
Thenyizu Baptist Church, men’s fellowship, Chetheba Town Baptist Church, Chesezu Baptist Church and BTC (Baptist Theological College, T.Chikri) Pfutsero presented special numbers during the occasion. It was announced that the Bethel Fellowship Chümoukedima Village, Dimapur was recognised by CBCC as a fully fledged church, now CBCC will have totaling 101 churches in the council.
Senior pastor of Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima (CBCK), Rev Khrotso Mero took over as the new Executive Secretary, CBCC for the tenure 2019-24 after Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Executive Secretary CBCC tenure ended after serving the council for 10 years (2 tenures). Leshemi Baptist Church under Khezha-Kuzha Tephe Area will host the next annual general council meeting in 2020.
