Kohima, April 10 (MExN): A three-day long 13th Annual Sports meet 2024 of Capital College of Higher Education (CCHE) commenced today at Indoor Badminton Stadium, Kohima.
Kethose Chuzho, Secretary, NDPP central youth organization graced the opening ceremony as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Chuzho stressed the importance of sports in a student’s life. According to him, sports not only benefit the physical and mental health but also help develop social skills, communication skills as well as personality. Chuzho advised the students to use social media responsibly.
The opening ceremony was attended by notable wrestlers and arm wrestlers who conducted the Arms Wrestling competition. Some of them include: Venuzo Dawhuo, Vemele Thingo, Huluyi D Vadeo, Vekuto Curhah, Serayi Tetseo, Rukukhoto Khusoh, Kekhriesetuo Mechulho and Sukrure Domeh.
For the opening programme, Mutunuzo Nyekha of 6th semester chaired the programme while the welcome address was delivered by Niekhoto Curhah, Asst. Professor, Department of History. Tovini Kiho of 6th semester presented a special song.
Later in the programme, Dr Zokho Venuh, Principal, CCHE, exhort the students and Akangjungla Kichu, Assistant professor, Department of Economics, pronounced the benediction.
This sports meet will conclude on April 12 at Kohima Science College Jotsoma with Ape Puro, Proprietor, Life Fitness as the guest of honour.
