CCP welcomes Naga Hoho bid for reconciliation

DIMAPUR, APRIL 25 (MExN): The Consultative Committee for Peace (CCP) has welcomed the decision of the Naga Hoho to reconstitute the Reconciliation Committee to pursue unity and reconciliation amongst all Naga national workers and to facilitate the peace process.

The CCP in its meeting held today also appealed to all factions of Naga undergrounds to maintain peace amongst themselves and with the civilian population and to work towards unity and reconciliation of all Naga undergrounds, instead of engaging themselves in fratricidal factional fight.

With this objective in mind, the CCP also called on the civil societies, the churches, NGOs and the public to continue their support to the long drawn peace process with patience, perseverance and positive hope for the future.

The CCP likewise welcomed the one year extension of the ceasefire between the government of India and the NSCK (K) and further appealed to both the Government of India and the NSCN to display absolute sincerity and commitment in their efforts to find an amicable and acceptable solution to the Naga political issue.
