
Dimapur, May 12 (MExN): The Confederation of Chang Students’ Union (CCSU) has appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Tuensang for “cancellation of agency dealership of all commodities and non-issuance of the same permit within Tuensang Town”.
CCSU’s press & information secretary, Bumet Changshou, in a letter addressed to the DC Tuensang highlighted that the general public of Tuensang town were facing innumerable economic catastrophe at the hands of a few monopolists, who had entirely grabbed the market and regulated the price of every essential commodities on their own, and added that the general public had consequently become a fatality to this practice.
Viewing with seriousness this predicament and taking it into consideration “for the upliftment and promotion of equal economy of the people”, the CCSU, during its 45th session, unanimously approved to put an end to such practice, it was informed. Further, informing its finding that every essential commodity has been elevated to a high price and that purchasing essentials had become unaffordable, the Union stated that this had given birth to social evils.
The CCSU thus appealed to the district administration to keep a check on all the dealers and to ensure that such system be eliminated on or before June 10, 2009, while requesting the DC to look into this matter seriously and take necessary action during his tenure.
