Kohima, October 26 (MExN): Chief Election Officer (CEO) of Nagaland, Abhiijt Sinha, has informed that the Election Commission of India (ECI), after reviewing the ongoing exercise of Special Summary Revision (SSR) of Electoral Rolls with reference to January 1, 2018 as the qualifying date, has extended the period of filing claims and objections up to November 30, 2017. This has been done so that a Special Verification Drive within the ongoing Summary Revision can be undertaken in which Booth Level Officers (BLOs) would visit house to house for the purpose. This special drive of house to house visits by the BLOs will be from November 15-30, 2017. All Forms collected during this special drive shall be disposed of during SSR 2018 and be part of the final publication supplements, stated a press release from Government of Nagaland’s Election Department.
