Kohima, February 1 (MExN): The Election Commission of India is leaving no stone unturned in trying to woo the young Naga voters to participate as an active citizen during the ensuing State election as part of SVEEP activity. To ensure a healthy turnout, the Election Commission has made the better use of music, urging the citizens, particularly the young voters to take part in the polls.
A press release issued by Media Cell, CEO office Nagaland stated that releasing the Election theme song entitled ‘My Vote makes my future’, Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland, J. Alam said that the song is aimed at attracting the young voters in particular but said that it will inspire everyone to take part in the election. Stating that it is difficult to create interest with first time voters, the Election Commission planned to generate interest through common concern and that was music.
With an aim to reach out to the nooks and corners of the State, the CEO also said that services of Radio and Television will be in use. He said, a 30 minute jingle will be extracted out of the song released which will run on AIR and Doordarshan.
A sound clip containing promotional message in Nagamese is also being released which can be used in the broadcast medium. J. Alam informed that out of the 2000 copies of the CD made, 1600 copies will be given to the NBCC to disseminate among the churches and community and around 200 copies will be dispatched to all the district headquarters. Besides, the song will also be released to the social media.
The CEO also informed that week before the polls, live performances by the artists will also be hosted in various places. Also nearing the voting day SMS campaign will also be made available, he added.
Also speaking on the occasion, Director Youth Net, Hekani said that the best way to reach out to the young people was through the music and their effort was made possible through the release of the CD Album. She expressed the hope that the song will inspire the targeted group in a large way. The 4:07 minute Election theme song entitled ‘My Vote makes my future’ of Alobo Naga featuring various artists was produced by the Youth Net Nagaland, for the CEO Nagaland.
