HSLC Examination 2013 18th rank topper Cepona Lohe, daughter of Yevetso Lohe of Khutsükhuno Village received the “Late. Ditso Mero Memorial Excellence Award 2013” along with a cash award of Rs. 10,000 and citation, yesterday (Sunday) here at the Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kohima (CBCK).
The award was sponsored by the family members of late Ditso Mero. Late D. Mero who was once an active member of the church passed away in the year 2011 while serving as Dy. Secretary to the government of Nagaland. In remembrance of late D. Mero who had concern for the academic progress for uplifting the young people, his family initiated Ditso Memorial Trust Fund in the year 2008 to encourage the Chakhesang students who ranks among the 20 HSLC toppers. Since then, the Award had been given to 12 HSLC toppers till date.
Chakhesang Baptist Church, Kohima has been organising the ‘Awarding Ceremony’ annually. The Church also acknowledged three of members who ranked from among the 50th toppers including Vethitolu Kezo-Topper 23rd, D/o Khupo Kezo, Rüküsü Yoho-topper 32nd, S/o Müvühü Yoho and Vedusü Rikha S/o Kekuse Rikha for their excellence performance by bringing laurels and fames to the Church community at large.
